We all want to be healthy and live healthier lifestyles, but enjoying that lifestyle is a different story. Some of us don’t naturally love working out or eating clean.

We’ve compiled a list of 8 tips that will help you enjoy, maintain and love a healthy lifestyle!

1. Eat seasonal fruit and veg as this is when it tastes it’s best and is the most nutrient rich
Summer – apricots, peaches, berries, tomatoes and cucumbers.
Autumn – passionfruit, spinach and pears.
Winter – avocados, broccoli, lemon and ginger.
Spring – watermelon, watercress and coriander.

2. Add a wild card to your shopping each week -it may be a new whole food or even a fruit you’ve never tried Eating outside the box and trying new things will keep healthy eating more exciting and you might find your new favourite food.

3. Play with colour by giving yourself the colour chart challenge when you’re eating your daily fruit intake
Monday = Green (maybe some green grapes)
Tuesday = Orange (let’s be cliche and say eat an orange)
Wednesday = Pink (a dragon fruit maybe!)
And so on…

4. Make a healthy version of your favourite “cheat” meal
For example, if you love chicken nuggets, pizza, nachos and creamy carbonara pasta, research how to make these dishes in a clean version. Experimenting is fun and just remember that you can make a healthy version of anything which makes eating healthy more enjoyable.

5. Combating sugar cravings with healthy “treats”
Be prepared and organised by always having sweet options in the fridge and pantry so that when you have those sugar cravings, you can still be satisfied by having a clean treat. Rewarding yourself with these “treats” will also make it feel like you aren’t missing out on your old diet.

6. Tracking your progress and transformation
Tracking your health journey and seeing your results will help make everything you’re implementing in your health lifestyle totally worth it! You will start to appreciate your body, your confidence will grow, you will have more energy and your health will improve.

7. Bring a friend or family member on this healthy journey with you
Exercise is so much more fun when you have someone to keep you company because you’re treating it as a social event in your life.

8. Researching new things about food or exercise will keep your mind stimulated & focused on a healthy lifestyle There’s some great books and Netflix shows that will keep you informed and entertained!
